At the HEAJ, tuition fees are always composed as follows:

  1. The minerval requested by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles: this is imposed by the FWB for all institutions. It is higher when the student is in a diploma year.
  2. Administrative and structural costs (IT infrastructure, library, printing, premises reserved for student use, etc.): these are defined by the Haute Ecole and the amount of these costs is common to all students enrolled there.
  3. Specific costs inherent in the student’s training: these are the costs of specific activities that each student is required to carry out as part of their training (specific materials and equipment, socio-cultural activities and educational trips). These expenses must be assessed at actual cost, i.e. per year and per section.

An additional amount known as the “specific registration fee” is charged to students who are not from a European Union country and who are not considered as assimilated or from a country on the UN list of least developed countries.

  • Payment deadlines!

A deposit of €50* must be paid as soon as possible after authorisation of registration by the student secretariat and by 31 October at the latest. Until this deposit is paid, you will not be considered enrolled at the HEAJ and will therefore not be able to take part in teaching activities or access certificates. The balance of the registration fee must be paid by 1 February at the latest;

If you have applied for a study allowance from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and, if applicable, until a negative decision is made by the Fédération, you are exempt from paying the registration fee.

Students in their 1st year of undergraduate studies applying to the HEAJ following a change of registration (between 1 October and 31 October) are exempt from paying the deposit.

*for students from outside the European Union, the deposit is higher.

  • Financial aid

You can apply for study allowances  from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and/or contact the psycho-social service of the HEAJ for any request for financial aid.
